Looooooong overdue post, but I finally got around to working on it. Weee! :)
Here’s a peek at GRAMS Diner’s newest branch: Crossroad Building, 32nd Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. It opened last January, and I’m so happy it’s semi-near my workplace.
Their Rockwell branch is now kaput, and silly me learned the hard way (went all the way to Rockwell only to be met by an abandoned GRAMS Diner). Do not follow in my footsteps! Haha!
I was a little disappointed with this branch’s vibe because it honestly looked like a rundown site with tacky graffiti on the walls, pipes protruding from the ceiling, etc. The place didn’t look like an old school diner at all (which was, well, the point), so yeah, I wasn’t too happy in that department.
My Whoppers Malt Milkshake (PhP150+), however, made me very, very happy. I think the silly face can speak for itself. This milkshake is still probably the best of Manila’s best, and so I wasn’t surprised that I drank this greedily. You mustn’t step out of GRAMS without getting yourself a glass of this goodness.
(Side note: This photo is one of the last ones I have with my long hair! I miss it already, but I don’t regret chopping off about six to seven inches of hair.)
BBQ Best Grilled Pork Belly (PhP195). Sinfully delicious (I cannot imagine the amount of oil and fat are in this dish), but it’s still well worth the bother. I especially like how the slightly spicy rice was a perfect match to the slices of meat whose sauce was the right amount of flavorful. The combination wasn’t overpowering.
GRAMS PRIME Burger (PhP175). It’s described by GRAMS Diner’s “menuzine” (their new menu in magazine form) as follows: “Half-pound Certified Angus Beef Patty. Ground, seasoned and grilled ON ORDER! Topped with melted mozzarella cheese. It’s so fresh the cow’s relatives haven’t been notified yet.” Delicious take on the classic burger. Just look at the patty on this one!
Oh and how cute is their trademark cherry?
GRAMS Diner will forever be one of my go-to places for great comfort food. You can view their full menu here.
You can also write on GRAMS Diner’s windows, just ask your server for a silver pen. Of course I just had to leave my mark. Hehe. I love GRAMS! <3
