So here’s a post on my disappointing trip to Mr. Jones. I’ve been to the restaurant several times (and I recall wrapping up each trip with a big, silly smile on my face), but my last trip to the cutesy diner was just a downer!
Their Fish N’ Chips (PhP385) came with several dips–I chose to dip my fish in tartar since I’m not really big on vinegar and salsa. Anyway, so this dish was… all right. Nothing close to Fish and Co.’s offering for sure (i.e. fish with butter and cheese ommmg), so the chances of me ordering this dish again is close to impossible. The fish itself was bland so you badly needed the dips!!
Moving on to an equally ho-hum dish–Fried Chicken and Waffles (PhP450) which took quite a while to prepare (good thing the servers gave us an extra serving of fries as we waited). The chicken was heavily, heavily, heavily (cannot stress this enough) breaded, plus the insides were completely rid of flavor. I also didn’t like their gravy! The waffles were fine, just a bit crumbly for my liking.
And lastly their Chocolate Caramel Marshmallow Milkshake (wow, what a mouthful!) for PhP250 was the only saving grace.
Check it out, it’s one of their new flavors and the only thing that I believe is worth coming back to among the three. Beware though, it’s too sweet! Drop by Mr. Jones if only for the milkshakes!
