Looking for something to kill the Manila heat? Check out Starr’s Famous Shakes Milkshake Bar located in Katipunan, Quezon City!
I’ve been wanting to visit Starr’s ever since Josh told me about it a few months ago. He knows I’m a sucker for a good milkshake, so he was certain I’d enjoy myself in Starr’s. And enjoy myself, I did!
The milkshakes are prepared in this small section of the shop where a fairly packed counter of goodies caught my eye immediately.
The milkshake bar is pretty small, so best to get your drinks to go. Besides, it’s very near Ateneo, so expect for it to be packed with kids who come in and out nonstop.
As you can see, the main dining area is all very cozy and casual: bright turquoise stools and walls accentuated with playful pop art.
These are just some of the treats that you can toss into your milkshake.
Josh and I both got Caramel and Cookie Dough milkshakes (PhP95) — his treat (mwahaha)! If we are to believe Starr’s, something as sinful as a Caramel and Cookie Dough milkshake is said to be made up of 98% fat-free ice cream and yogurt. Kind of silly though, don’t you think? I swear I felt the sugar rushing to my brain on the first sip.
We were obviously very happy customers. Our milkshakes were just the right amount of sweet, plus they came with a substantial serving of cookie chunks. While Starr’s milkshakes are thick and filling as is, they can thicken up your drink (What? It’s possible?) even more for an additional PhP10.
Check out their menu. You can either customize your own milkshake or select one from their collection of clever mixes. My next targets: Strawberry Cheesecake, Choco Hazelnut and Mallows, and Bubblegum. Yum!
