I stumbled upon this quaint little pastry shop in TriNoma while window shopping with mom one day. I found it unsettling having to just pass by the colorful cupcake display so while mom went to look at watches, I went to get a cupcake. Haha!
Vanilla Cupcake Bakery is brought to us by the same people behind clothing brand Kamiseta. Now the overall vibe of the place seems to make sense.
Everything in the shop is in line with Kamiseta’s branding — sweet, dainty, casual, fun. So many cute stuff are spread out across Vanilla Cupcake Bakery: vintage kitchen equipment, frilly table tops, ornate, glass containers for single and multiple cupcakes, a mix of comfortable seating (ghost chairs, sofas, stools), etc etc etc. The place is just lovely. I think their Glorietta branch is even better, more spacious and decorated. Scroll down for more cuteness.
Awesome cow salt and pepper shakers. I love cows!
Tin tip box by the counter. And now on to some photos of the yummy cupcakes =)
Their bestseller (well, of course) is Vanilla (PhP85). These cupcakes come in three colors: pink, blue, and green (in place of blue, I am guessing, for when blue isn’t available)!
I got myself a green one and matched it with a cafe mocha (you know what that means: ultra sweet cupcake + slightly bitter coffee). The combo was just to die for!
But there is more to Vanilla Cupcake Bakery than just cupcakes. Mom and I decided to have lunch there as well since I had already settled in with my cupcake and coffee. Yes, I had dessert before lunch. (But what else is new?)
So for lunch, I just got myself a Classic Caesar Salad (Php85). It was all right. Nothing-out-the-ordinary type of salad, but it wasn’t bad. Acceptable.
Mom got Spaghetti with Sweet Bolognese (PhP180) which she liked. The sauce was sweet all right, but not Jollibee sweet, if you know what I mean. I wish it came with a better variety of bread though.
And since I’ve had dessert prior to lunch, I just got some cupcakes to go and take home to my brothers. As I waited for my orders (scroll down to see what flavors I got), I took snaps of other goodies you can find in Vanilla Cupcake Bakery. They have huge, chunky cookies by the counter…
… and too cute Cup-Cakes (cakes in a cup) that come in bowed jars. Mango Panacotta and Tiramisu are seen in this photo.
So here’s our takeout box. Cupcakes to go are packed in 1s, 2s, or 6s. Nice packaging, I just don’t like that it isn’t the most pleasant of boxes to hold.
And now for my to go orders: Vanilla (PhP75), Valrhona Chocolate (PhP85), Red Velvet (PhP85), Carrot (PhP80), and Hummingbird (PhP85). Each one of these was so delicious, from the base to the icing to the toppings. Yum!
My favorite of all is their Vanilla cupcake, of course. Their cupcakes aren’t top notch like Sonja’s Cupcakes’ offerings (which are still unbeatable in my book), but they are very good in their own right. A tad too sweet, but I love them just the same! You must try!
