I have this terrible habit of delaying use of newly purchased stuff, nail paint included. This is precisely what happened with OPI’s Gouda Gouda Two Shoes which I had on a few weeks ago. Tsk, this collection is so last year!
Anyway, prior to purchasing my own bottle, I’ve seen online that nail bloggers seem to have appreciated the color more than they thought they would. I mean, just look at it.. the color’s a beautiful mix of tan and old rose. Unfortunately, I thought otherwise. The found the color to register waaay better on the bottle than when applied on my nails. For starters, I felt it just aged my nails x 10. Haha!
Also didn’t like the consistency of the polish. It was too watery so polish application was a pain; in effect, each coat was uneven.
The upside though is that the polish takes takes you by surprise with gold, pink, orange glitters here and there. The shimmer is subtle — only under strong lighting will the sparkle surface.
Also, I think you can do without a top coat as the polish itself is already very glossy.
Here’s a second look at Gouda Gouda Two Shoes on me. Quite a disappointment, all in all. I absolutely hate it when a creme polish still makes brush strokes very much visible. Argh.
